Massage is therapeutic, nurturing and balancing.

I have been pursuing my love of this work for over 19 years.

About

Jacqueline Scott, LMT

Jacqueline-Scott

My studies in massage therapy began in 1995 at the Integral Art of Massage in San Francisco CA, shortly after  receiving my first massage and loving it. I continued my training at the Stillpoint School of Massage Therapy in Hatfield, MA completing a certificate with 900+ hours of  coursework. Since graduation in 1999 I have maintained a successful private practice, first in Montague MA until 2002,  and now for 16 years in Kittery ME. I was an instructor at Hesser College, Portsmouth NH in the Massage Therapy Program from 04-11 teaching classes in Neuromuscular Therapy, Deep Tissue Techniques and Swedish Massage Therapy and ran the student massage therapy clinic.

I have taken many continuing education courses in the  hopes of finding the most effective approaches to alleviating musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction and for addressing the everyday stresses we carry in our bodies. These include:

Paul St. John’s Neuromuscular Therapy 1-5 (over 200 hours of training and assistant teaching).
Myofacial Mobilization Certification, Muscular Wellness Institute, Bow NH.
Pre and Peri Natal Massage Certification with Carol Osbourne-Sheets.
Medical Massage Certification, Alajuela Costa Rica.
Craniosacral Therapy 1 with the Upledger Institute.
Reiki Level 1 Certification with Lourdes-Evans Grey.
Massage and Cancer Care with Tracey Walton.
Yoga Teacher Training Certification with Kimberly Dahlman.

Every massage session incorporates a blend of many techniques, designed specifically for the client and their current needs. I enjoy working with all concerns ranging from pain reduction, injury recovery or prevention, to stress reduction and maintenance for overall good health. It is my goal in working with each individual to assist them in achieving their goals and offering ways to support themselves day to day in maintaining these outcomes.

TREATMENTS

Every session integrates any/all of these techniques focusing on the individual and their current needs. The initial session begins with a client history, and every following session begins with an intake to discuss the clients current pain/discomfort/stress levels and goals for the session. I am happy to discuss over the phone or through email to see if massage therapy is right for you.
